Whether you want to maintain your balance, increase your flexibility, improve your stamina or just get a little more distance on the driving range, performance coaches at TriMov have more tools than ever to help analyze your movement — and help you stay on top of your game.

TriMov is a Pinehurst performance and fitness training studio that specializes in fitness, sports, and therapy with an emphasis on three-dimensional movement: hence the name, TriMov (pronounced Try Move).

Kelly Cap and her wife Julie Law started TriMov in 2013. In addition to performance coaching, Kelly is an LPGA Class A Teaching Professional and former LPGA Tour Playing Professional, as well as a licensed Massage Therapist. Julie is a Captain for the Charlotte Fire Department and Fascial Stretch Therapist.

“At TriMov, we assess our client’s mechanics, whether it’s walking or swinging a golf club, then analyze their ability to move in all three planes of motion while evaluating their mobility, stability, strength, power and speed,” Cap says.

“Julie and I have backgrounds in biomechanics, health science and psychology with several years of experience within our respective sports both collegiately and professionally. Our goal is to help educate our clients on how to optimize their performance within their own body’s abilities.

“It starts with a foundation that is based on scientific principles. Whether these principles are physical, biological or behavioral, all three can have an impact on quality of movement and performance.”

In 2021, Cap and Law created TriMov’s Golf Performance Center, which includes an indoor hitting bay and golf simulator, where golf swing analyses take place.

TriMov utilizes a K-Vest and Boditrak Pressure Mat to track sequencing of the golf swing, combined with movement screens from TPI and 3DMAPS to uncover and improve any limitations. TriMov also has free weights, cable machines, stretching area and a therapy room for massage therapy and recovery.

When it comes to performance, Cap says she and Law “want to adapt our clients as quickly as possible to not only the demands of the sport, but more importantly, what their own bodies are capable of doing within those demands.”

In addition to in-studio training, TriMov has online golf and fitness programs equipped with personalized instructional videos for effective workouts at home or on vacation.
