Pinecrest avenged its only volleyball loss of the season Thursday.

And the Patriots 3-1 win over Scotland also put Pinecrest in the driver’s seat in the Sandhills Athletic Conference.

Now 20-1 overall, but more importantly 11-1 in the conference, the Patriots are one game ahead of Scotland in the standings with two matches remaining.

Since a loss to Scotland, 10-2 in the league, Sept. 12, the Patriots have ripped off 12 wins in a row.

The two remaining Patriot matches are both conference contests. Pinecrest travels to Fayetteville Tuesday to take on Jack Britt. Then the Patriots face Hoke County at home Thursday for the last match of the regular season.

In Thursday’s 21-25, 25-12, 25-19, 25-22 win over the Scots, Pinecrest got a strong performances from Sophi Galford, with 21 digs, 14 service points, and nine kills, and from Madi Ringley with 25 assists, 15 service points and six digs.

Vivian Camplin, who was selected the player of the game, finished with 37 digs and 10 service points for the Patriots.

Chloe Modlin and Lexi Allen both had 11 kills for Pinecrest.
