The Sandhills Bogeys’ first season in the Old North State League went nearly as perfectly as planned. Drawing large crowds and winning the league championship in a sweep, the anticipation for the home opener on June 3 continues to build after a pair of high-scoring road wins in the first week.
“We have depth. I like the depth from what we had last year. The biggest thing from last year to this year is we wanted to get better at every single position, and add depth to it,” Bogeys head coach Tom Shaffer said. “It’s not about this team defending a title. It’s about our team defending a title. It’s not rebuilding, it’s reloading.”
