I can’t believe that our government would do this. I receive about 16 phone calls a day and the Federal Conversation Commission is reportedly going to prevent me from receiving half of them!

They say that those people are trying to spoof me, and that’s against some law or other. They don’t even know who most of those people are.

A spoof is a trick, a joke, something said to make people laugh. They’re almost like puzzles, but in my experience the half of my phone calls that are spoofs are so childish that I feel sorry for the person who is calling. Some of them don’t even speak real well. Others don’t even want to talk to me. They just want me to play whack-a-mole with my phone.

From what I hear, the government today has lots of important things to pay attention to that they are ignoring. Paying attention to jokes and entertainment seems like a waste of time, and I hear all of us taxpayers are footing the bill for their wasted time.

What’s up with that?

Bob, the real problem is those calls are making phones obsolete. No one wants to answer any unknown calls even though these marketers create numbers similar to your own to trick you into answering. Once you answer them, you get on a list as an active target so you are then inundated with even more calls. Because I'm sick of answering these calls, I've forwarded them from my landline to my cell phone so I can see if they are fake. Everything goes to voice mail and my message asks people to leave a message if they would like me to call them back. If there's no message I block them so I don't have to get them again. Every once in a while I think I've gotten rid of them but one mistake by answering one will put you back on the nonstop calling again. It's become a nightmare for most people.
