I was encouraged to read Jerry Constantino’s letter in the March 4 edition requesting that The Pilot publish some much needed information on how we can properly recycle to gain the most from our efforts.
I know that there are many things we’re all doing that are actually harmful to the recycling business. A clear and concise chart showing the do’s and don’ts would be so helpful.
I often walk in my neighborhood in Southern Pines and see such a good effort on everyone’s part to recycle but I also see a lot of things that I’m thinking are actually harmful to the whole process.
I’d hate to think that simple wrongs are causing our recycled items to end up in the landfill and not in the hands of the recycling companies.
