A recent letter to the editor opined that if President Obama or Hillary Clinton were president the country would have better prepared for the coronavirus.

Is that the same President Obama who failed to resupply the N95 masks that were used up during the H1N1 virus while he was in office? Hillary Clinton would just be raking in more cash to the Clinton Foundation from the Chinese to help stop the spread of racist claims about the origins of the virus.

I certainly can’t imagine either of them would have been willing to ban travel to China for fear of being labeled a racist.

Lets at least try to be somewhat rational about this....first of all, the question of who would be better is impossible to determine. THere are no real comparisons to make, and trust me, I am not a Trump supporter. But there is one thing we can pretty much determine and that no one, Obama, Clinton or Mickey Mouse could do much worse. Should Obama have replenished the supplies? Maybe. Should Trump have done this, yes. Did either? No. Both wrong. We will have over 100,000 souls taken from us because of this pandemic. It could have been handled way better than what it was and it is clearly on Trump's watch. He was warned about this in December, issued a halt for vistors from CHina in January that let in 40,000 after it was issued, and did nothing in February....except hope for a "miracle" that "day it would disappear." It didnt, and it hasn't. Injecting disinfectant? Shining a strong light on someone? Taking meds that are at best questionable and deadly at worst? He is not capable of handling this matter. If for no other reason than the pandemic, he does not deserve another term

It should have read “Clinton DID’NT have the stamina.

James Heim

Trump had over three years to prepare for this and restock the stockpile. What did he do? If my excuse to the boss to a problem was to blame the guy I replaced three years earlier, I'd be out on my ear.

Peyton Cook

The bigger question is why Obama didn’t replenish the stockpile after the virus outbreak in 2008. He had eight years. Trump is doing tons better than either Obama or Clinton. Obama did nothing 2008 and Clinton did have the stamina.

James Heim

90,000 dead and counting. Obama and Clinton never came close.

Barbara Misiaszek

We'll never know what either of them would have done will we? We have followed Trump's response and voters will make their judgment on 11/3/2020. John Misiaszek

National Institute of Health: 12,469 deaths in the US from H1N1 from April 2009 to April 2010. Hardly comparable to the 88, 200+ deaths from Covid-19 to date in the USA in 4 & 1/2 months. Three 3+ years into the Trump administration everything is still Obama's fault.

Frank Staples

So what, Dan? For EIGHT years we had to listen to the obummer blame bush for everything that went wrong while taking credit for what went right. For instance, your hero obummer claimed to be the hero of the world after our military took out bin laden...something that he literally had nothing to do with other than letting our military go in to get him on what was literally a suicide mission!

James Heim

A suicide mission? How many did we lose?

Frank Staples

James, we didn't lose any. Was that because of anything the obumma did? NO! And if you'll bother to read the book instead of simply mouthing off you'll find that the entire team considered it to be a suicide mission...they did NOT expect to come back!

James Heim

I wonder how that would have worked after Pearl Harbor. Well, it looks bad but if the president doesn't want to counter-attack, we'll just have to wait for the next election. Does anyone know Japanese?

Peyton Cook

I don’t see what Pearl Harbor has to do with it.

Conrad Meyer

Hey Peyton, James doesn't see what Pearl Harbor has to do with it either. It is simply another red herring from a liberal to deflect attention from more important matters, like Obamagate. Or the failure of Obamacare. He is nothing more than a sky screamer from a few years ago. Looks like we are stuck with him again for the rest of the year.
