After reading a letter sent in by Steve Woodward of Pinehurst in the Aug. 7 edition of The Pilot, I went to the Letters to the Editor section to see what your guidelines are.

The Pilot requires identification, that the letter be of public interest, and “should avoid name-calling and libelous language.”

Well, his letter definitely slipped past your review, as he not only was name-calling the staff at Nature’s Own when he described them as “tattooed punks,” he went on to make libelous statements by calling the residents of “garbage infested eyesore” Robbins “subsidized entitlement addicts.”

How is his letter of public interest? It was more a public insult and should not have been allowed per your guidelines. I have one last comment: Mr. Woodward, why are you so angry?
