We are all experiencing highs and lows during this time, but the highs are heartwarming and hopefully more memorable.
So many are showing support for our furloughed restaurant employees and owners with very limited hours, who work tirelessly to serve our community. One working behind the scenes is Ashley VanCamp, owner of Ashten’s Restaurant, who has been preparing meals for those that usually cook, serve and clean up for guests.
With the help of other contributors — Fiona MacKenzie of Sandhills Community College, Broad Street Bakery, Dugan’s Pub, Beefeaters, Running Fork, Ice Cream Parlor, Thyme and Place Cafe, Ouida’s Woodfire Pizza and suppliers — nourishing meals have been made available as well as a supportive smile.
When this is behind us, it’s the little things which matter most, now isn’t it? Until then, your table awaits you.
Leslie Philip, Southern Pine
