I, like all of you, look forward to whatever Joyce Reehling has to say, and I so appreciate her highlighting some special holiday events here and around Pinehurst. However she missed two concerts I’d like to mention.
The first is the Moore Philharmonic Orchestra led by Eric Kopecky. This group is comprised of local young musicians, enhanced (I like to think) by some of us oldies but goodies. Our Christmas concert is Saturday, Dec. 7, at 7 p.m. in the newly renovated Owens Auditorium. This concert is free, as are all of ours.
Let me also mention another free concert. New Horizons Band in the Pines will present our annual Christmas concert on Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 3 p.m. at the Senior Enrichment Center.
If you haven’t heard us lately, do come and listen. I think you’ll enjoy us. We’re bigger and better and happy to share our joy in music this holiday season. Also, if you ever played a band instrument and miss playing, come and join us. We’d love to welcome you to our group.
Susan Rush, Pinehurst
