I would like to issue a public apology to the following motor vehicle drivers:

* To the two drivers who passed me on a double yellow line near Pinecrest High School. I was observing the 35 mph speed limit, but that was not fast enough for you. For holding up your progress, I am sorry.

* To the driver on U.S. 15-501 between Morganton Road and the Traffic Circle who found it necessary to tailgate me — or were you practicing for the next NASCAR race? I am sorry for observing the 45 mph speed limit. Although you arrived at the circle about one minute ahead of me, I am sorry for delaying your progress.

And to the drivers on Midland Road who have yelled and given me a particular gesture because 35 was not fast enough, I regret raising your blood pressure. You see, I have one of those insurance programs whereby I can save on my premium for being a good driver who observes the speed limit. So please, don’t mess with my discount.

Excellent. I have experienced much the same. It’s just the way it is today. The many the Important people to many are “me, myself and I”. Sometimes I get the urge to slow down, but resist because it might bring on road rage.
