Bruce Cunningham practiced law with quiet effect and tenacious passion — the same way he lived his life. His clients and causes got his best efforts. It made no difference of the economic status of the client.

Bruce would always approach a case or cause with a degree of idealism; pragmatism was secondary.

Bruce was a purist. He was what a good lawyer should be. He sacrificed and gave back to his community, and represented his profession with dignity without any expectation of receiving anything in return except to help his fellow man, when he saw the need.

In the political world, he stood on solid principles and what he thoughtfully and reasonably believed was right.

Bruce was decent, gracious, intellectual, tenacious and humble. The results of his greatness will continue after his passing. Bruce will be missed. I will miss him.
