Susan C. Cramer

Susan Michelle Chester Cramer, 59, of West End, passed away Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020, at Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.

She was born Aug. 31, 1960, in Sacramento, Calif., to Thelma and Duane Chester. She was a 1979 graduate of Cumberland County High School, Crossville, Tenn. She married Paul Benton Cramer on Nov. 27, 1987, in Pinehurst. Susan worked as an event planner, antiques dealer and homemaker. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of home through the love of cooking and entertaining. She built a lovely “nest” as, her mother would say, for herself and Benton. Susan had a beautiful smile and infectious laugh. She was devoted to her many cats, dogs, and horses over the years and loved her pets dearly. She will be missed by everyone she touched in this life.

She is survived by her husband Benton; her brother, Scott; her father- and mother-in-law, Jesse and Daneen Gore; her sisters-in-law, Aimee Chester and Tracey Cramer; her three nieces, Jessica Cramer, Lindsay Chester and Kristen Chester; and her West Coast family. In the spring of this year, a private family service to remember Susan will be held in the mountains of North Carolina.
