On Wednesday, October 9, 2019, Roger Lee Dunlap, loving husband and father of five children, passed away at the age of 68.
Roger was born June 13, 1951, in Robbins, to Mack L Dunlap and Betty H Dunlap.
He is survived by his mother, Betty H Dunlap; his wife of 24 years, Linda Dunlap; four sons, Hunter, Jason and wife Cinthya, Trapper, Jody and wife Mary; one daughter, Nikki. Roger had seven grandchildren, Cotey, Archer, Lauren, Austin, Brooke, Matthew and Ranger. Roger is survived by his siblings, Johnny Dunlap and wife Pam, Marilynn Youngs and husband Andy, Margaret Garner, Amy Garner and husband Tony.
Roger was a legendary outdoorsman who had a passion for deer hunting. He involved his family and friends in the love of the hunt. Roger was willing to help anyone and give them his last dollar, knowing he would have to do without. He made a career out of carpentry. He enjoyed working on guns, gardening, collecting coins and arrowheads.
Roger will forever be in the hearts of his family and friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 19, at Cool Springs UMC, in Carthage beginning at 3 p.m.
