Robert L. Ebel

Robert Leo Ebel, 80, of Seven Lakes, passed away at home Sunday, July 7, 2019, surrounded by his family.

Born June 21, 1939, in Peoria, Ill., he was the son of the late Leo C. Ebel and Alice Mary Ebel. Bob served in the Marine Corps, active from 1959 until 1963 and reserves until 1965. After his honorable discharge from the Corps, he went on to work at Carson Perry Scott in the advertising department, where he met his better half and partner in all that they did, his loving wife, Teresa K. Michael. At one of their favorite hobbies to do together, they both excelled. Both were skeet shooting champions as husband and wife as well as individually. Bob went even further as national champion.

Bob graduated from the Kendall School of Design with honors in January of 1969. He worked for Selig Manufacturing as vice president of furniture design and development until 1980. Bob then formed his own design and engineering business, working for several furniture manufacturers, both in the states and abroad until 2005. He then retired and became the best babysitter, supporter and taxi driver for his grandchildren and great-grandchild that one could ever ask for!

Bob was a lifetime member of the Sandhills Marine Corps League Detachment 1001 and was commandant for three years (2003- 2006). He was rewarded “Marine of the Year” in 2006.
