Robert Edward Eelman, 86, of Pinehurst, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2019.
He was born Oct. 31, 1932, in Paterson, N.J., to the late Harry and Georgina Youngster Eelman. He grew up in Paterson and after high school served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. After the war, he worked for many years with Public Service Utilities in New Jersey. Later he opened his own businessm The Nineteenth Green, on Greenwood Lake in New Jersey. Bob moved to Pinehurst in the 1980s. where he pursued his love of golf, while working in car sales, and then real estate.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Linda Eelman; daughter, Jackie Willson (Jaimie), of Edgewater, Fla.; son, Bob Eelman, of Manasquan, N.J.; stepdaughter, Kelly Boyette of Pinehurst; stepson, Gray Boyette (Charlyne), of Asheville; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Robin Willson; and a brother, Don Eelman.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 10, at 1 p.m. at The Village Chapel.
