Richard Earl Nall, 71, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2019, at his residence, surrounded by his family.
Richard was born April 10, 1948, to John and Luella McNeill Nall, at Moore County Hospital, in Pinehurst. He graduated from East Montgomery High School in 1966. He retired, after 39 years as the plant manager of Thompson-Arthur Sand Plant in Candor. He loved cooking, listening to beach music, and spending time with his family and friends.
He was a member of the Elise Masonic Lodge No. 555 in Robbins for 41 years and an honorary member of the Biscoe Masonic Lodge No. 437. Richard was also an Oasis International Shriner of Charlotte and a member of the Moore County Shrine Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Roland Nall, Roger Nall, Ray Nall, Ralph Nall; and his sisters, Frances Brewer Rush and Betty Jean Davis.
He is survived by his wife, Joye Hicks Nall, of the home; his children, John Nall and wife, Carol, of Eagle Springs, Christy Beaver and husband, Chris, of Charlotte, Cassie Neal and husband, Justin, of Garner; grandchildren, Meghan Masse and husband, Justin, Marissa Angel and husband, Chris, Montana Nall, Caleigh Beaver, Colton Beaver and Mary Grace Neal; sister, Mary Greene, of Seagrove; and step-daughters, Pat Pressley, Anita Kessler and Pam Furches.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, July 15, at Pine Grove Baptist Church, where he was a lifetime member, with the Rev. Billy Reynolds officiating, along with the Rev. Matthew Baker. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Masonic rites.
The family will receive friends from 6–8 p.m., Sunday, July 14, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Star; and other times at 540 Owen St., in Star.
