Mitchell W. Wolanski Jr., 82, of Pinehurst, died Monday,Aug. 12, 2019, at FirstHealth Hospice.
Wolanski was born Jan. 11, 1937, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late Mitchell and Ann Wolanski. He enlisted in the Marine Corps after high school and later was a graphic designer for GTE company in Connecticut.
Mr. Wolanski was known for his love of God, his country, his beloved Corps and playing the piano.
He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia; a son, Stephen; and a brother, Robert.
He is survived by two sons, John and his wife, Myra, of Florida, and Mitchell, of Connecticut; a daughter, Melanie, of Connecticut; a brother, Father Edward C. P., of Florida; a sister-in-law, Margaret, of New York; his fiancee, Karen Beckerman, of Pinehurst, and eight grandchildren.
A memorial Mass, celebrated by Father Edward C. P., will be held in the near future.
