Billy Ray Williams

Billy Ray Williams, 74, of Eagle Springs, passed away Thursday, Nov. 28, 2019, on his birthday and Thanksgiving Day while doing what he loved best: being outside and hunting. 

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at Central Carolina Riders Association (CCRA) Arena. 

A native of Moore County, he was a son of the late Raymond and Hazel (Livengood) Williams. Billy retired from the N.C. Forest Service as a heavy equipment operator. He was an active member and past president of the CCRA. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed all kinds of hunting and fishing. He was a farrier and leatherman. Billy could do anything he put his mind to and was a master of many things. He was also a great story teller.

He is survived by his wife Carol (Carrick) Williams; daughters Lynn Brower and boyfriend, Bobby, of Robbins, Lisa Meurer and husband, Jacob, of Spring Lake; sisters, Frances Pickler and husband, Virgil, of Aberdeen, Linda Daniel and husband, James, of Magna, Utah; three grandchildren, Kristin, Tiffany and Alana; and two great-grandchildren, Kayleb and Jacob.
