22 Arrested

Authorities have arrested 22 in a yearlong undercover operation. A yearlong multiagency undercover investigation has led to the arrests of 22 suspects for selling drugs in Moore County.

Sheriff Neil Godfrey, Southern Pines Police Chief Bob Temme and Aberdeen Police Chief announced the arrests in a joint news release Thursday evening.

During the past year, the Moore County Sheriff’s Office, Southern Pines Police Department and Aberdeen Police Department worked a joint undercover drug investigation throughout the county. Officers targeted drug dealers selling prescription pills, marijuana and cocaine in Aberdeen, Southern Pines, Vass, Cameron, Robbins, Eagle Springs and the Carthage areas, the release said.

Officers from the Sheriff’s Office along with the Southern Pines, Aberdeen, Pinehurst, Foxfire Village, Whispering Pines and Carthage police departments participated in making the arrests Thursday morning.

The following suspects were arrested:

Roger Kenneth Hardy, 50, of Carthage, possess with intent to sell/deliver schedule III controlled substance, sell schedule III controlled substance, deliver schedule III controlled substance (Hydrocodone) prescription pills. He was jailed with secured bond set at $10,000.

Terrence Latraile Harris, 27, of Southern Pines, two counts each of possess with intent to sell/deliver cocaine, sell cocaine, deliver cocaine, possess with intent to sell/deliver marijuana, sell marijuana and deliver marijuana. He was jailed with secured bond set at $15,000.

William Dale Davis, 29, of Aberdeen, possess with intent to sell/deliver schedule III controlled substance, sell schedule III and deliver schedule III controlled substance (Codeine). He was jailed with secured bond set at $10,000.

James Lander McLeod, 29 of Southern Pines, possess with intent to sell/deliver schedule III controlled substance, sell schedule III controlled substance and deliver schedule III controlled substance, (Lorcet pills). He was jailed on $15,000 secured bond.

Ricky Orlyn Ryan, 22 of Robbins, possess with intent to sell/deliver marijuana, sell marijuana, deliver marijuana, possess with intent to sell/deliver schedule II controlled substance, deliver schedule II controlled substance, sell schedule II controlled substance (Percocet pills), conspiracy to sell/deliver schedule II controlled substance and conspiracy to sell/deliver marijuana. He was jailed with secured bond set at $25,000.

Kayly Elizabeth Maness, 27 of Robbins, conspiracy to sell/deliver marijuana and conspiracy to sell/deliver schedule II controlled substance (Percocet). She was jailed on a $25,000 secured bond.

Michael Allen Copeland, 28 of Eagle Springs, possess with/intent to sell/deliver marijuana, sell marijuana and deliver marijuana. He was jailed with secured bond set at $7,500.

Jarvis Terrell Smith, 28 of Aberdeen, possess with intent to sell/deliver schedule II controlled substance, sell schedule II controlled substance, deliver schedule II controlled substance (Endocet pills) and three counts of trafficking opium. He was jailed on a $75,000 secured bond.

Ivory Eugene Robinson, 31 of Vass, possess with intent to sell/deliver marijuana, sell marijuana, deliver marijuana, possess with intent to sell/deliver schedule II controlled substance, deliver schedule II controlled substance and sell schedule II controlled substance (Oxycodone pills). He was jailed with secured bond set at $25,000.

Venise Dawn Smith, 27 of Cameron, possess with intent to sell/deliver schedule II controlled substance, sell schedule II controlled substance and deliver schedule II controlled substance (Percocet pills). She was jailed on a $7,500 secured bond.

Curtis Anthony Gaster, 28, of Cameron, possess with intent to sell/deliver schedule II controlled substance, sell schedule II controlled substance and deliver schedule II controlled substance (Endocet pills). He was jailed with secured bond set at $10,000.

William David Lane Jr. 53 of Cameron, possess with intent to sell/deliver schedule II controlled substance, deliver schedule II controlled substance and sell schedule II controlled substance (Oxycodone pills). He was jailed on a $6,000 secured bond.

Sabrina Shantell Dowd, 23 of Cameron, conspiracy to sell/deliver marijuana. She was jailed on a $10,000 secured bond.

Stephen Lake Sherrill, 60 of Carthage, with three counts each of possess with intent to sell/deliver schedule III controlled substance, sell schedule III controlled substance, deliver schedule III controlled substance (Lorcet pills) and trafficking opium, conspiracy to sell/deliver schedule III controlled substance and conspiracy to traffick schedule III controlled substance (opium). He was jailed with secured bond set at $85,000.

Crystal Lynn Marsh, 27 of Carthage, possess with intent to sell/deliver schedule III controlled substance, deliver schedule III controlled substance, sell schedule III controlled substance (Lorcet pills) and conspiracy to sell/deliver schedule III controlled substance. She was jailed on a $10,000 secured bond.

Robert Lorenzo Chisholm, 29 of Carthage, possess with intent to sell/deliver marijuana, sell marijuana, and deliver marijuana. He was jailed on a $5,000 secured bond.

Travis Demar Smith, 30 of Carthage, two counts each of possess with intent to sell/deliver marijuana, sell marijuana and deliver marijuana. He was jailed on a $7,500 secured bond.

Danny Ray Lane, 52 of Cameron, possess with intent to sell/deliver schedule II controlled substance, deliver schedule II controlled substance and sell schedule II controlled substance (Oxycodone pills). He was jailed with secured bond set at $10,000.

Douglas Dwayne Whitaker, 52 of Vass, possess with intent to sell/deliver schedule II controlled substance, deliver schedule II controlled substance, sell schedule II controlled substance (Oxycodone pills) and three counts of trafficking opium. He was jailed on a $30,000 secured bond.

Paul Joseph Brown Jr. 42 of Vass, charged with possess with intent to sell/deliver schedule II controlled substance, deliver schedule II controlled substance, sell schedule II controlled substance (Oxycodone pills) and four counts of trafficking opium, possess with intent to sell/deliver schedule III controlled substance, sell schedule III controlled substance, deliver schedule III controlled substance (Lortab pills) and conspiracy to traffick opium. He was jailed with secured bond set at $30,000.

Jimmy Lee Marsh, 29 of Carthage, possess with intent to sell/deliver schedule III controlled substance, sell schedule III controlled substance, deliver schedule III controlled substance (Lorcet pills) and conspiracy to sell/deliver schedule III controlled substance. He was jailed on a $10,000 secured bond.

Nicholas Adam Simmons, 25, of Cameron, possess with intent to sell/deliver schedule II controlled substance, sell schedule II controlled substance, deliver schedule II controlled substance (Opana pills), possess with intent to sell/deliver marijuana, sell marijuana, deliver marijuana, possession with intent to sell/deliver schedule IV controlled substance, sell schedule IV controlled substance and deliver schedule IV controlled substance (Xanax pills). He was jailed on a $10,000 secured bond.

In addition to those 22 arrests, the joint arrest teams that were assembled made the following arrests in Southern Pines for warrants or offenses committed in the officer’s presence.

Thenell Ingram, Murray Hill Road, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Mitchell McNeill, Brookside Park Apartments, Richards Street, trespassing.

Erica Faulk, Brookside Park Apartments, Richards Street, stalking and communicating threats.

Brandon Scott Deese, Murray Hill Road, trespassing.

Layla Brooks, Brookside Park Apartments, Richards Street, stalking.

Lovie Vample/Brooks, Brookside Park Apartments, Richards Street, possession of stolen goods and failure to appear

Nikki Marie Pratt, Central Drive, financial identity fraud.
