Southern Pines Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Friday, Nov. 29.

At approximately 6:30 p.m., officers from the Southern Pines Police Department responded to the 500 block of Shaw Avenue, located inside the Brookside apartment complex following the report of shots being fired.

Upon arrival, officers located a 23-year-old male who had sustained two gunshot wounds. The injuries were reported to be non-life threatening, according to a news release issued Friday evening.

Additional information has not been announced.

The Southern Pines Police Department is requesting the assistance of the community to identify the suspect in this incident.
