In anticipation of its 12th annual Youth Triathlon, FirstHealth Fitness – Pinehurst will host a parent information night at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24 at the fitness center at 170 Memorial Drive, Pinehurst.

The session will give parents all of the needed information for their child’s successful participation in the Youth Triathlon.

“This event, which is in its 12th year, has seen thousands of children participate in the traditional swim, bike and run event,” says Race Director Jodi Heimrich. “It has become a favorite for children ranging in age from 4-years-old to 12-years-old.”

We used to do the equivalent without all the organization and parents around - hours spent on bikes, climbing trees, roaming area woods, sledding, etc. Obesity was rare among kids and we slept well at night, even without a participation medal.
