The Carolina Philharmonic presented the inaugural Pinehurst Jazz Festival, in memory of Joshua Wolff, brother of David Michael Wolff and a frequent performer in the Sandhills, on Sunday, July 14, and Monday, July 15, at the Carolina Hotel, Cardinal Ballroom. The three performances of jazz music featured renowned vocalists and instrumentalists with whom he had performed during his musical career. Receptions after the concerts included videos from Joshua’s final performance with his brother David Michael, principal conductor of the Carolina Philharmonic, as well as an exhibit of selected Jazz Forum cover posters created by Rafal Olbinski, and presented in cooperation with the Zbigniew Seifert Foundation. The Jazz Festival was sponsored in part by Art Swanson and The Carolina Hotel. Photos by Al and Annette Daniels
