A fugitive wanted on outstanding warrants in Moore County allegedly tried to elude arrest by hiding in a closet.
David Ray Justice Jr., 53, was taken into custody Saturday by the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office. In a statement shared on social media, the agency said Justice was found “hiding in a bedroom closet” at a home in Greenville.
Authorities in Moore County had taken out 10 warrants on Justice, according to the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office. Some of his charges include four counts of felony larceny and three counts of felony breaking and entering.
The statement did not say when the warrants were issued or what town the offenses occurred in. Justice is also charged with felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance for drugs that were discovered during his arrest, the sheriff’s office said.
He was placed in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $110,500 secured bond.
