The Junior League of Moore County is currently seeking your help to support survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking in our area.
Local survivors who seek medical care have the option of undergoing forensic examination following their assault. These exams gather critical evidence for law enforcement, but are also often lengthy, stressful and re-traumatizing for survivors, who may even have to surrender their clothing, shoes, and personal belongings as evidence in the process.
This year’s Junior League Provisional Class hopes to provide comfort and dignity for these survivors by creating 50 Survivor Care Packages, which will be distributed at the hospital through a local non-profit partner. We are currently seeking donations of the following items to be included in our packages:
Gift cards for clothing or footwear
Single serving snacks, bottles of water, and gum
Hair brushes, hair ties, and clips
Travel-size toiletry items, such as shampoo, soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste, and chapstick
Journals and pens
If you are able to donate any of these items, or are interested in making a monetary donation to support this project, please contact provisionals@JLMCNC.org. All donations are tax-deductible, and will make a direct impact towards supporting survivors here in Moore County.
