Sandhills Community College Continuing Education’s Center for Creative Living can help you reach your personal goals in order to achieve a more intellectually rewarding life. This summer, dive into the world of yoga and meditation with these class offerings. These classes will be held online and, if permitted, may convert to face-to-face classes on campus. “Explore Yoga” is both informative and engaging and designed for all levels. Students will develop a safe physical practice and learn how the physical aspect is just one component of the mind-body connection. Students will learn stress reduction techniques, develop strength, and gain flexibility. Classes will be online. A customized combination offering online of pre-recorded and live classes. “Explore Yoga” will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 to 10:30 a.m., from May 18 to Aug. 24. The cost is $222. A second class will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, May 19 to Aug. 13, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The cost is $156. Students will learn tools to develop a regular meditation practice in “Meditation Exploration.” Students will learn to calm their body, mind, and soul while finding awareness of your true being. A customized combination offering online of pre-recorded and live classes. “Meditation Exploration” will be held on Wednesdays, May 20-Aug. 12, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The cost is $104. “Restorative Yoga” is the practice of asanas (yoga postures), each held for longer than in conventional classes, often with the support of props; such as bolsters and blocks, to relax the body. Through this practice, we will release excess tension while allowing the body and the nervous system to restore. A customized combination offering online of pre-recorded and live classes.
“Restorative Yoga” will be held on Fridays, May 22-Aug. 14 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The cost is $72.
