Dr. Mardy Grothe

The Central Carolinas Phi Beta Kappa Association (CCPBK) will present a talk by author and retired psychologist Dr. Mardy Grothe on Saturday, Sept. 28, at 10 a.m., at the Country Club of North Carolina.

Grothe’s entertaining talk, “How Quotations Can Improve, Enlarge, and Even Change Your Life,” is resourced from his eightquotation anthologies, and also from “Dr. Mardy’s Dictionary of Metaphorical Quotations,” the world’s largest online database with more than 40,000 quotations.

The event is open to CCPBK members and the general public. Coffee and pastries will be available beginning at 9:30 a.m. Advance registration is required for access to the Country Club of North Carolina (attendee list will be at the gatehouse). The $12 admission charge ($6 for students) is payable in the clubhouse, or a check can be sent to CCPBK, P.O. Box 4851, Pinehurst, NC 28374. Registration required by Sept. 20.
