On January 13, 2020, the Sandhills Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) made a donation to the Fort Bragg Fisher House in the amount of $1,000.

Making the donation in person to Fisher House Manager Vivian L. Wilson, was MOAA Sandhills Chapter President Col. Nickolas Christopher, U.S. Army (ret.). Accompanying Christopher were officers from the Sandhills Chapter, Lt. Col. William Taylor, U.S. Army (ret.), MOAA Chapter treasurer; Col. James Slavin, U.S. Army (ret.) MOAA Chapter second vice president; Col. Iggi Husar, US Army (ret.) MOAA Chapter director of the Board of Directors.

The Fort Bragg Fisher House provides a "home away from home" for families and patients receiving medical care at Womack AMC of active and retired military service personnel. Families served are from all branches of service eligible for medical care at Womack Army Medical Center.

The Sandhills Chapter of MOAA supports veterans, dependents and survivors in time of need as well as promoting citizenship at the high school level by awarding scholarships to deserving high school Junior Officer Training Corps (JROTC) seniors.
