First Presbyterian Church will hold its Fall Festival Saturday, Oct. 12, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
There will be a chili cook-off from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., baked goods, silent auction, a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., a plant sale, bouncy house, kids’ games, face painting, 50/50 raffle and quilt raffle. Buggy Town Coffee will serve from 8 a.m. to noon and Kona Ice will serve from noon to 3 p.m. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., there will be live music by Larry Allen and Emily Whittle.
The Chili Cook-off is the first of what is hoped will be an annual event. Adult tickets are $8 and children’s tickets are $5. Each ticket will include chili samples and a bowl of the ticket holder’s favorite recipe along with any additions the team choses to provide. The team with the most fan-favorite tickets wins bragging rights and a trophy.
Children who come to the Kids’ Zone will each purchase an arm bracelet for $5. The arm bracelet allows each child to go to the bouncy house, participate in games with prizes, get their face painted, their hair sprayed with colors, and enjoy the many activities in the Kids’ Zone.
