Following an investigation by the Moore County Sheriff’s Office, an Aberdeen man was arrested Wednesday in connection with separate sexual assault cases involving three victims.
Cullen Riley Mills, 20, is charged with second-degree forcible rape, two counts of first-degree forcible rape and two counts of assault by strangulation.
According to the sheriff’s office, the charges stem from investigation launched after the agency received “a report of a possible rape in the Cameron area” on July 24. Investigators later found that two other victims had been “assaulted by the same suspect under similar circumstances.”
Chief Deputy Richard Maness said the victims are all women. Investigators do not believe the attacks were random.
Mills was placed in the Moore County Detention Center under a $300,000 secured bond. He is due next Wednesday in Moore County District Court.
