About 200 people on Saturday participated in an equality march on U.S. 15-501 in Aberdeen. Organized by the Black Christian Mothers Business Alliance, the “Equal Equals Equal” march was the latest in a local wave of peaceful protests prompted by the killing of George Floyd.
The group walked from Aberdeen Lake Park to the parking lot of ALDI before looping back to the park. The marchers were escorted along the 3-mile route by members of the Aberdeen Police Department. (Photographs by Jaymie Baxley/The Pilot)
