If so, we'd love to have your unwanted, gently-used items for our upcoming Tag Sale on Saturday, April 17th. This is the third year First Casualty Insurance Group (FCIG) has hosted this event for us and we are hoping this one will be the biggest and best yet! The event will be held in the parking lot at FCIG, located at 190-A Turner Street in Southern Pines, next to the Goodwill store.
We'll accept just about anything - clothes, furniture, pet supplies, home decor, office equipment, toys - and anything we don't sell will be donated to Goodwill. We ask that items be dropped off at FCIG by Thursday, April 15th.
So keep us mind when you are cleaning out your closets and garages - your unwanted stuff can and will help homeless pets in Moore County!
For more information or for directions, please contact Elizabeth at 910-692-3463.

To Chuck Taylor: Let's be more positive! Of course we want to help homeless people and many animal-lovers do. It's just that in this time of financial crisis, one of the first charities to be overlooked is for animals. I think it's great that FCIG and the Moore Humane Society are teaming up to help animals. Let's join the effort if we possibly can!
And Barry Dangerous, you made an excellent point. Thank you!

Thank you FCIG. I just cleaned out a room and remodeled it and was wondering where to take the stuff. Now I know. I can't help anymore animals personally as I have 19 now that have either been rescued or adopted from a shelter, but I'm always looking for any other ways to help. See you soon!!

To Chuck Taylor: Thanks for responding! I'm not offended, don't worry. I just want people to be more animal-sensitive in this county, and in North Carolina. We have a long way to go where animals rights are concerned. And you make an interesting point about people buying your old Ralph Lauren shirts at Good Will. But do me one favor....don't let that get in the way of participating in a good charity to help those that can't defend themselves, ok?

Even if someone shops at Goodwill in order to buy Ralph Lauren shirts for $4.00, they are still helping the community - Goodwill does so much more than just sell cheap clothing. They provide employment opportunties to 500 people in Eastern NC, education and training to over 271,000 students in Eastern NC and life enrichment for 35 adults and much more. So when anyone shops at Goodwill, they are helping people in their own community and not to mention helping to reduce, renew and recycle. Visit http://www.goodwillenc.org/ to learn more.

I am looking for a small dog like a yorkie or pic a choo. I have things I just cleaned my closet and things out the house. I will try to get them to you. I can't afford the 300 and 600 dollar dog.

Moore Humane has some wonderful dogs and cats and I agree, no need to buy a designer dog when so many beautiful and loving cats and dogs can be found at the shelter. I have donated many items for the MHS tag sales and 100% of the proceeds go directly to the shelter in providing for the lost, rescued and injured animals. ChuckTaylor, people have the ability and/or the means to help themselves and too often I see where they prefer to abuse the system rather than help themselves...but I guess they are helping themselves to the taxes you and I pay. But domestic animals you see, depend on the human species to help them and they ask for nothing in return...they only give unconditional love. So if you are not interested in helping a great cause, then continue to help those whom could help themselves. I understand some cannot, but the majority can but prefer to abuse the system...
