At 4pm today, four wrestling teams will weigh in before taking the mat at 5pm in the first round of the NCHSAA 3A Dual Team State Championships at Union Pines. South Brunswick will be favored against C.B. Aycock, while Moore County's Union Pines Vikings take Eastern Alamance. The winners of the first round will wrestle in the district championship round of the playoffs immediately following the first round. Last year's play offs happened in front of a packed house in what was an immediate classic as 2011 Dual Team State Champions Orange HS narrowly defeated the Vikings in the district championship round. Come out to Bob Ward Gymnasium tonight and cheer on the Vikings as they work for the opportunity to wrestle under the spotlight in front of a home crowd.

While things heat up in Viking Country, Moore County's Patriots will host the first two rounds of the NCHSAA 4A Dual Team State Championships. Pinecrest (28-1) should be favored to beat Fayetteville's Cape Fear (13-3) while Hope Mills' South View (17-2) takes on Holly Springs (28-2) in what may be a closely contested match as South View has been battling injuries and eligibility issues of late. The winners will face off tonight in the district championship round with the winner moving on to wrestle on Thursday. Pinecrest has an outstanding chance to make its way through the bracket and end up in the finals this Saturday.

Tuesday night will be a hot one in Moore County, so find your way to the Pinecrest High School or Union Pines High School and cheer on our teams as they fight for the opportunity to be crowned champions.
