Wrestling in Moore County continues to grow and improve. Grassroots efforts are largely behind this trend and without continued efforts wrestling will face challenges that even the greatest sport cannot overcome. This is particularly true with state and local budget challenges staring us all in the face. When adminstrations look to sports for budget cuts they seem to forget that education is why sports exist in school. Suddenly it is about revenue versus cost and revenue over education.
We are starting a newsletter to serve as a grassroots resource to continue that improvement and growth. It is only May and we are aware of over 15 wrestling events scheduled outside of school programs for the 2011-2012 season, all in Moore County! We want to share these and other opportunities with you and give you the opportunity to share opportunities with everyone else.
This newsletter will provide an outlet for all that positive wrestling news (to include results) that does not always make it into mainstream media. So sign up, keep reading, and get ready to send in your submissions!
Please do not hesitate to call or email us for more information. Contact Marty at 910-824-0024 or ceo@teamrhinollc.rhinowrestling.org. You can subscribe to the newsletter on the bottom of the home page at http://teamrhinollc.rhinowrestling.org.
>If you have a story you would like to submit now, email it in. An article summarizing your team's season; one highlighting a special supporter, team member, parent, or coach; and articles on graduating seniors moving on to the collegiate level are all welcome. Have a highlight video? Send that to us as well.
