We are seeking youth wrestlers to try out for the Moore County All Star Dual Teams.
We are fielding both elementary and middle school teams. Tryouts will be open to all Moore County residents. If we cannot fill the roster with Moore County wrestlers, we will turn to our neighboring counties. All wrestlers interested in competing for a position on either of these teams should send an email with their name, their parents’ names, contact information (to include phone number), and desired weight class to ceo@teamrhinollc.rhinowrestling.org. Costs associated with the team are being determined and may decrease based on sponsorship received.
The Elementary Dual Team will compete in the Red, White, and Blue Folkstyle Duals on 19 November 2011. Last year this event featured teams from NC, MI, PA, GA, and SC and is expected to be equally competitive this year. The field is limited to ten teams.
The elementary weight classes for the event are 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100, 108, and 116. Tenths are dropped at weigh-ins to accommodate scale differences. Competitors must have been born in 1999 or after, AND enrolled in elementary school, kindergarten through 6th Grade.
Wrestle offs will take place at Union Pines High School on 8 October beginning at 0830 am. This is prior to competition starting at the Dirty South wrestling tournament which starts later that morning at UPHS.
The Middle School Dual Team will compete in the Red, White, and Blue Folkstyle Duals on 29 January 2012. The weight classes for the event are 70, 77, 84, 91, 98, 105, 112, 120, 128, 136, 144, 152, 160, 175, 190, 210, and HWT. Tenths are dropped at weigh-ins to accommodate scale differences. A two-pound growth allowance will be used. Competitors must have been born in 1997 or after, and be enrolled in middle school (or junior high), 6th through 8th grade.
