It would help me a whole lot to support changes in the tax code if I knew how this money is used and is proposed to be used. What percent of this tax is going to roads? Did I see electric car recharging stations being built using some of the gas tax dollars? What about Charlotte's "McCrory" Line? High speed rail? I see study, after study cautioning against these projects but NO clear reports back from the cities or states revealing actual costs vs income after they are built.
It's no wonder there's little support for tackling transportaion taxes. Nobody knows what it's for?

I doubt that we will ever find out how money is used and what potion of it exactly goes to the road. We are provided with the sort of information that is comfortable for somebody to give us. So there is no point is asking such question as for me, since there is no guarantee that the answer you are going to get will be 100% the right one. As for the roads, I really think that very little percentage would actually go to our roads.
