OK, I am finally home long enough to get around to take care of predictions for the first week of the high school football season. This season could be interesting. Last year, I finish up with a 154-29 record and a percentage mark of 84.1%. This season, I hope to shoot for 90%, and if I fall short, well, life will continue. If anybody wants to post their own picks, go ahead, post them and make my day. I may laugh or scratch my head, but at least I'll be entertained.

As usual, I'll pick all the games from the Yadkin Valley1A, Cape Fear Valley 3A and Southeastern 4A conferences. Gonna also choose a "Game of the Week." This week's game of the week will be Scotland County traveling up U.S. 401 to take on 71st. The Falcons lost to Scotland County in last season's opener, win twelve straight and lost at home to Panther Creek in the 4AA East semifinals. The Scots to improve on last year's 7-5 mark.

Finally, I must issue the "standard" disclaimer." All picks and opinions are strictly MY OWN and do NOT reflect the views of the staff and management of The Pilot.

So, there you go. Let the season begin!!!
