Okay, it seems as if it has been decades since I last posted something on this here blog. Sorry for the lengthy absence. Call it part writers block and part lack of inspiration.

Today, I have some time, some inspiration and a few minutes to kill before heading home for the holiday, so I'll offer up a smorgasbord of sports tidbits to be digested over the Turkey Day weekend.

First, I know we are just a few weeks into the college basketball season, but I am already sick of seeing Doc Rivers and Del Curry at Duke games.

I know their sons are prominent members of the Blue Devil basketball team, but still... Seeing them annoys me as much as the frequent cutaway shots of Tyler Hansbrough's father during Tyler's championship run two years ago with the Tar Heels.

Enough. I tuned in to the game to watch basketball, not somebody in the crowd with better seats than I have.

The best game of this Turkey Day weekend will be the one nobody thinks will be. Dallas and Miami will be the best game because we will get to see the Leon Lett fumble blunder against the Dolphins in 1993. Now that is a moment that I, as a Redskin fan, can truly appreciate.

Put the over under on the number of times that clip will be shown at 10.

If you haven't seen the Sandhills Community College Flyers basketball team play, you need to do so. The Flyers are 8-0 and are a deep, talented and exciting team to watch play. The Flyers play at home (O'Neal old gym) against Pfeiffer at 7 p.m. Nov. 30 and against NC State Club at 4 p.m. Dec. 3.
