Okay, work and life have been kinda hectic recently so I have neglected to post anything on the long, strange trip that is my journey to better health. Truly, the previous two weeks have been largely uneventful. Weight loss has been minimal and there was hardly anything new on the exercise front. The one interesting exercise I did (rather poorly, I might add) was what they call a Turkish Get-Up. Brutal. Here is a link to describe the exercise. Turkish Get Up.
This week I got a quick tour around the grounds of the Fitness Center. More specifically the hills. With a medicine ball. It was interesting. I did learn that you don't have to be chained to free weights and exercise machines to get a good workout. A little imagination or a good (ready: crazy) trainer and you can have fun, or at least not get bored, and get a good workout. Down about two pounds from the last time I blogged. That leaves me about 13 from winning my weight wager with three weeks left. Guess I better step it up a bit.

I have something for you Tom. Save the Gym money and go see John @ Rainbow Cycle in Southern Pines and get a bike. Then you will be able to enjoy the outdoors. And not be inside all the time. Riding is a great way to lose weight and is low impact on the joints. That is as long as you don't go down.

The trails around Rassie-Wicker Park are wonderful. Lots of hills and shaded areas-not boring like a track. Plus you will get plenty of fresh air. It's also great if you have a dog, then both of you can get out & get exercise. Check for ticks when you get home!

Tom, you have to try the Wii Fit Plus. The EA Active Game is awesome! You have hundreds of different workouts. The workouts are based on your size, weight, goals, etc. Activities include boxing, tennis, inline skating, track and field, etc. It is lots of fun AND you get a good workout. You are in the privacy of your own home and you can set the pace of your workouts. Give it a try, you won't regret it.
