Pinecrest High School Class of 1971

There is just this one and there will be only one, Pinecrest High School, The Class of 1971 That we cannot change, at least, that’s what I see We are like a family, that’s the least that we should be.

Some of us did well in life some of us did not But we all have something to share, a little or a lot Some got more than they deserve, some, they deserve better, We all should make the time, to call, email, or write a letter

A family, that’s what we are, diverse we can proclaim On different roads we choose to run, our paths were not the same Some searched for answers and found them, some are searching still Some had trouble choosing a path, others always will

Some seem to have it all, yet with others all is lost Some want to give, to help, no matter what the cost Some of us need help, some have help to give Some don’t want any help; they’ve lost their will to live

Some searched for miracles, a life to heal, a cure Their time was spent in love, so caring and so pure Some nursed others back to health, to others their life they gave Some need help and nursing now, their lives we need to save

Some don’t have any time, some have time to spare Some of us want to help; some, they just don’t care Some say they are too busy, to give someone a lift A kind word, a meal, a prayer, a job, a loan, a gift

We should learn to forgive; it’s a hard thing to do For if we don’t first forgive, how can we be forgiven too? Even if we don’t like one another, or what was said or done, We are all still Pinecrest High School, The Class of ‘71

Sex and sin, drinkins fun we’re the class of ’71, remember that battle cry, The life a few tried to live, some will live it till they die The answers we all must give upon our judgment day The thrill of youth, the narrow road, and the price we all will pay

Some know the Lord, some do not, it’s a different road we trod Some chose a different deity; others made “THINGS” their god We are all brothers and sisters, the class of ‘71 And we always will be, were the only one

Many have lost loved ones, in life’s short and weary days Family, friends, and children, lost in many ways A few we cannot find, some have passed away Some, are they gone forever?, some are gone to stay

Some want the memories cherished, some want them all forgot Some say put the past behind you, but that’s something we must not And from the past we must learn, or the past was lived for naught All the lessons we should have learned, all that we were taught

Many served our country, to keep us safe and free Proud of them we must stay, that how it has to be Some, they fought and suffered, some have fought and died??? Some stayed home to protest, others stayed home and cried

We all should be much wiser, for the mistakes that we have made Along life’s weary highway, the prices that we’ve paid Let us not be losers, letting the past fade away We have to give to receive; we should stay in touch someway

Or chances to see each other grow smaller with every day Our times to be together, they swiftly pass away So let our past be remembered, it is our history to all Dig up those pictures and souvenirs and post them on the walls

A family, that’s what we are, different as night and day Let us gather together once more, before others pass away This verse is added to this poem in hopes ya’ll will come To Little River Farms to reunite the Class of ‘71
