My husband and I have been attending Pinecrest Football games (home and away) for the last 10 yrs FAITHFULLY. I did not have a child playing football, but had a child who was a member of the marching band four of those years. I am a graduate of PC, my husband went to HS in NY. For all of you who do not know where this school ranked in the past as far as high school football goes, take a look back. Five yrs ago, we hardly had enough players to play a game of football; many of those games, the highlight of the night was the marching band. We now have a coach and a football program that has and deserves the respect of a ranking high school football team. Speak for yourself if you think Coach Metzgher does not have respect, this man has done miracles for the Pinecrest football program and has the respect of many in our community and his players love him. We have players being offered scholarships who would have never had that opportunity under previous coaches. Like my husband says when he's playing sports, it's not our fault if the other team can't make the plays, YOU HAVE TO PLAY THE GAME! It is what it is and it's up to the other team to learn the game. Thanks Coach for all your hard work, we're behind you. We appreciate that you are giving our guys practice, you're putting in the second and third string and you're giving the guys practice when they're ahead by trying a two point conversion. It's too bad not everyone sees that you're the coach we haven't had, but have deserved for a long time coming!!! So if you haven't caught on to "flying with the eagles," ask any devoted Pinecrest supporter and we will gladly explain! (P.S. And my husband says he pulls for UP anytime they're playing football, wrestling, baseball or any other sport and he wants them to do well when they're playing PC, not necessarily to win against PC)
