Go OUT to a movie OR stay IN with a DVD?

We haven't been 'OUT' to the movie's for a very, very long time. So long, in fact, I can't remember the last time. I was thinking that maybe Shutter Island would be a good movie to catch on the BIG screen this weekend and then I started thinking about the cost, the snacks, the comfort, etc. etc. etc.

In essence, I talked myself out of a night out at the movies with my sweetie. Instead, I will go online, reserve my DVD through Redbox.com, go to the grocery store to purchase our snacks/beverages of choice, pickup my reserved DVD on the way out, curl up on the sofa in front of the fireplace & ENJOY!!!

A matinee ticket (before 5pm) costs $7/person. A Redbox DVD costs $1 (that's right, one dollar)

You do the math.

I'm not even going to go into the cost of movie theatre snacks/beverages. I'm all about the savings and the comfortability (is that a word??)!!!

I will give credit, where credit is due...I did see where a local movie theatre is offering a free popcorn coupon w/purchase of beverage online (not valid on weekends).

Now the big decision, which movie to reserve on Redbox.com - Chick Flick, Comedy, Horror or Action??? Hmmmmm, sounds like a good title for my next blog!
