Language arts teacher Lisa Elliott had her head shaved by hairstylist Nichole Jenkins during an after-school event at Crains Creek Middle School May 3. Elliott promised students she would shave her head if they helped her raise money to participate in the Disney Half Marathon, which raises funds for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. Students and the school community held Elliott to her promise and helped her raise more than $4,000. Enlarge

Courseaire, please read Ms. Salomon's column, Out of the Blue, in September's Pinestraw Mag. and maybe you will rethink your post on this thread. I realize your comment was directed at FG but, it was in poor taste. Everything is not always funny.

mcgal - Thanks, I read Deb's column and my sympathies & apologies to her if she was offended, but I fail to see any correlation other than a gun. However, relating a hoodie to getting shot is relevant in that one should be aware of their surroundings & what they wear as it may just have consequences not sought. I have no problem with my comment to FG, even in jest, if it brings awareness that sometimes you may reap what you don't sow.
