OOPS. No sooner had the July 4th Pilot hit the stands than was I flogged for two omissions in stories about scoop shops and bakeries -- both in Pinehurst village. I asked two residents and a shopkeeper about where to get a cone...nobody mentioned the Red Door, where fantastic ice cream is made on premises. Please go get a cone there, and say Deb's sorry. I will, too, but better not identify myself or I might get a lickin'. I'm familiar with Kraz Elegant Cakes from a story I wrote for PineStraw, about wedding cakes. This time, management declined participation. Thanks, Pinehurstians, for your vigilance.

Didn't you do an article on coffee shops about a year ago and get in trouble for leaving some off then? Best tell the editor that running down a list of similar businesses will onl bring heartache.

Not me..... We always do our best to be inclusive. Nobody's perfect. Hope we made it up to Red Door. Most important: the supporters rallied round.
