Today the TV political pundits were discussing Mitt Romeny's difficulty in capturing the support of women voters. A GOPer offered this answer: Just look at Ann Romney. She's a strong woman, a cancer and MS "survivor," mother of five...and more. The suggestion was that her qualities and accomplishments should be enough to satisfy voters. Ann Romney is not running for president. Plenty of losers have had strong wives...not that Romney falls into that category whatsoever. But to offer up his wife as an appeal to women voters is ... um, shortsighted. A candidate should not win or lose spousally, right? The pundit went on to suggest that Romney get more involved in "women's issues" like raising their families. I would like to think those "women's issues" are vital to all voters. Reminds me of Joe Biden, upon being nominated for VP, introducing his extremely accomplished wife, a Ph.D. educator, as a "knockout." The French have a saying: The more things change, the more they stay the same.

I would like for us to have a president that governs more based on whats good for the overall wellbeing of the country and not segments of the population and also without concerning himself about re-election. I would offer Gov Christie and Gov Walker as examples.
