I know how to reset my car clock, oven clock, watch and wall clock. The computer, TV and alarm clock (a miracle!) set themselves. Now, would somebody please tell me how to reset my black cat Lucky? I adopted Lucky in July; somebody in the apartment complex where I live moved and abandoned him months earlier; I had been feeding him outside. Then one scorching, humid day he ran inside the front door, looked around, curled up on the sofa and went to sleep. The poor thing has been declawed. He is the sweetest, most loving animal I've ever known....and I've known plenty. He sleeps by my shoulder, his head under my chin...until 5:30 a.m. when he starts softly pawing or licking my ear. That's fine. I'm a morning person. I get up then to work out at the gym. If I want to sleep later I give Lucky a few kibbles and he's happy for 10 minutes or so. But now 5:30 a.m. is 4:30 a.m. Lucky is an exceptionally smart cat...but he doesn't understand Daylight Savings Time which was implemented for cows. I'm not shutting the door on this poor kitty, who slept under a truck in the parking lot or a bed box on my porch all last winter. He's earned his critter comforts. But until I find a way to teach him to tell time we both need a cat nap in the afternoon. Unless somebody has a better idea....

The problem isn't the animals, it's the people. We invented Daylight Savings Time. So why do we even need or use it anymore? I vote we get rid of it.

That would be fine with me.

DST and AST (Alaska Standard Time) really mess us up here outside Fairbanks. In the winter, it doesn't make so much difference, we are KINDA daylight from 11AM till about 3 PM. You have to run your headlights to drive, but it is kinda light. Then in the summer it's a different story. The sun does not set until 1AM, but then is back up at around 3AM. It really doesn't get dark enough to even use your headlights when driving, but the sun is down behind the hills to the north. It is pretty weird!!

Lucky is lucky. He found a forever home. Thank you for taking him in. Since he is declawed please don't let him outside.
