AAAGH!! We are only a few days into fall and I am already getting calls about Christmas assistance! I guess I can't blame families for calling to inquire since it is already on my mind as well (personally and for First In Families). Somehow once we reach mid-September to the beginning of October time speeds up and the holidays are here in the blink of an eye. So I just wanted to put out there for those that have the holidays on the brain already or those that prefer to try to ignore the be-here-before-you-know-it holidays, please keep room on your list for a child with disabilities or their sibling. Many of these families struggle throughout the year to meet basic needs and have extra expenses for therapies, special equipment, hospital visits etc. First In Families tries to reach out to the community to adopt our wish lists to help make the holidays bright for a child with developmental disabilities and their siblings!! I know it is still a few months away and many of you groan to think about it but keep us in mind as the holidays come closer.
