This past Friday we participated in The United Way Day of Caring and utilized five volunteers to construct a swing set for a family that has four young children. Although we did quite a bit of research and felt confident that swing set we purchased would go together with ease, anyone who has ever put together a swing set should know that this is rarely the case!! We had to make a few corrections along the way because the instructions failed to mention the top bar should be a certain way and the leg with the three holes should be in a certain position, each of which you don't realize until four steps later when you are hanging the swings or attaching the see-saw : ) We had some wonderful volunteers, a few of which were school administrators and we mustered through. The end result was a happy family and one of the children already swinging away before we even got finished with hanging all of the swings!!
