First In Families wants to say a BIG THANK YOU!! to the volunteers from Carpenters for Christ!!!! We received an application from a family for assistance with putting an exit door into their daughter's bedroom. It would be used for when EMS had to come and take her to the hospital for medical emergencies (the hall was too narrow for the gurney to be able to turn into her room). We contacted Carpenters for Christ and they came out, saw the need and said they would help. We were able to partner with Lowes for some materials and Carpenters for Christ provided the rest of the materials and the labor. The next step now is the wheelchair ramp, which we have in the works! Thanks again guys!!
