So, I started this blog for a number of reasons: 1) to increase awareness about First In Families, 2)to change how people, even if just one person, may think about individuals with developmental disabilities, 3) to make connections to individuals, organizations and businesses in the community that may help further our efforts, and 4) to put out requests from time to time related to requests made by families and their needs.
That being said, this post is in relation to #3. If you or anyone you know would be interested in learning more about First In Famlies, please pass on my contact information. We are looking for new First In Families friends in our community. Our definition of a First In Families friend is anyone who knows about First In Families and what we do and is willing to be an ambassador for our chapter. First In Families friends may also be businesses or organizations that are able to provide discounts or assistance with fulfilling application needs. Would you be our friend? Do you know someone who might? The more friends we have, the more we can do for families that apply.
Thanks for reading!
