Well, another end of another great establishment that gives you good service, good food and good friends. I am so sad to hear this is going to close. Let me and the Eastwood regulars know your thoughts and comments.

That's too bad! It has been a long time, but I've eaten at the Eastwood Diner several times in the past. To be honest, I forget that it's there. "Out of sight, Out of mind"...I guess you could say.
My job takes me all over the County and I usually only ate at the Eastwood if I were working in that area.
Would more advertising increase their business? Why are they closing?

I read about it in the Fayetteville paper and they said most of the problem was the economy and the hardship of repairs that the building is requiring that is the responsibility of the tenant. Hopefully enough people will rally and help save a landmark.

It's a shame as they have some great home style food. Hopefully the owners can work something out and repair the building and stay open.

Yes Poundman, I agree. I think that the problem is that there was not enough publicity and interest soon enough. As I said I heard this in the Fayetteville paper first and then read it in the Wednesday paper of the Pilot, two days before they were to close and they made it sound certain. Just a shame that we in Moore County do not keep or hear about the establishments like Eastwood Diner through local sources soon enough that maybe we can save a diner in Eastwood as well as hear about what is going on elsewhere. We need people that can relate to all of Moore County and not just a select few.

It's a shame to see good, local restaurants close down. I get so tired of eating at all the "chain places."

Maybe the person who said they loved to eat there and hated to see it close...could use some of the money they saved in not having to buy over twenty (20) dump trucks loads of dirt they had delivered to their house from the recent building project at the new FirstHealth Heart Center in Pinehurst to assistance the operator in making the needed repairs! Abuse of power... maybe, down right DIRTy you bet! Did I step on anyone's toes? If so shrink them up in your DIRTy boots...cause I'm gonna-stomp on your whole foot before too long! I've got the "scoop" on you now and all I have to do is expose your DIRTy ways of under-hand dealings! Have I got your attention? Thought I would raise a few hairs on the back of your neck!

@ Catboy, I'm not wound tight...just pissed off at the "not-so-good old boy" network that attempts to run our county! You keep on smoking your weed and I'm sure you will land a good job in the future! Maybe in Mexico but not here...oh that's right you don't live here! Don't let your pot lead to other target drugs and don't start breaking into folks houses and trying to rob them to support your habit because you might end up with a taste of buck shot! Go feed your kitty
